LED Stroboscope S-1
LED stroboscope S-1 is a multi-function portable stroboscope having a sturdy body and an IP54-compliant dustproof/waterproof structure. In internal trigger flashing, flash timing can be fine-adjusted by a phase-shift function. In external trigger flashing, the unit is equipped with various flash functions such as delay, frequency division, and slow motion. These functions enable the unit to do more than measure the rotation speed of motors. It excels in observing the state of rapidly rotating or moving bodies, and can be used for inspections in paper-manufacturing, printing, and spinning plants.
The battery-operated design allows the unit to be used anywhere.

Having an IP54-compliant dustproof/waterproof structure, the S-1 can operate continuously for 16 hours by a built-in large-capacity battery. It can be used without having to worry about dust or water droplets in the surrounding environment and whether a power supply is available.
In internal trigger flashing, maximum flash frequency is extremely high at 360,000 FPM, so the S-1 can be used to measure the rotation speed of a rapidly rotating body or observe the state of a rapidly moving body. In external trigger flashing, the unit is equipped with diverse functions such as angle delay, time delay, frequency division, and slow motion, which enable flash timing to be adjusted according to an input signal, and an irradiation target to can be observed and inspected in an optimal state. Settings can be saved for a maximum of 10 settings, which makes it easy to switch between settings when using a single S-1 for a variety of flash conditions.
In the inspection of printed matter, the number of flashes can be easily set without bothersome calculations using the conveyor encoder signal and the number of printed sheets. For example, for an encoder with 60 P/R and 7 printed sheets per rotation, there is no need to calculate the division ratio (60÷7=8.5714…)—you only have to set the number of pulses “60” and number of printed sheets “7”.
S-1 illuminates the area of Φ12 cm uniformly from a distance of 30 cm.
Ultra-bright LEDs provide sufficient brightness.
There are two ways to set the flash duration, "duty cycle setting mode" and "time setting mode".
Duty cycle setting mode:
Set the duty cycle in the unit of "%" that represents the ratio of the flash duration in the flash cycle (the time from one flash to the next flash). Brightness can be adjusted in ten steps from 0.1% to 1% in increments of 0.1%.
Since light intensity is constant at the set ratio, brightness of the strobe image is constant even when the flash frequency is increased or decreased. It is suitable for usual rotational speed measurement.
Time setting mode:
Set the flash duration in the unit of "μs". Accurate flash duration can be controlled by setting it in increments of 0.1 μsec from 0.1 μsec to 1% of the flash cycle.
Since flash duration is constant at the set time, sharpness of the strobe image is constant even when the flash frequency is increased or decreased. It is suitable for observing high-speed moving/rotating objects, or for external trigger flashing.
